LEVER ACTION "DEER RIFLE". Cal. 30-30 Win. S# 1849052. Mfg. 1952. Survey published by Bert Hartman in the Winter 2023 Edition of "The Winchester Collector" in which he sampled 3,070 Model 64s, showed approx. production of the "Deer Rifle" was approx. 25%. Bbl. 24" with elevator adjustable sporting rear sight and ramp mounted hooded bead front sight. Rifle features full blue metal finish. Checkered walnut beavertail forend and pistol grip fluted comb buttstock with hard rubber Winchester grip cap, checkered steel buttplate and Supergrade style inletted sling stud. Front sling stud integral with forend cap. CONDITION: very fine overall. Metal parts retain 97% of their bright original blue finish with a few small scratches at left upper rear of receiver. Stock set shows minimal light handling marks with small area of flaked finish at bottom rear of forend. Mirror bore shows crisp rifling. A very fine example of the rare 64 deluxe variation that would be difficult to improve upon for most any collector. (26-1870/BH). CURIO. $2,500-3,500.
